Industrial Civil Engineer from University of Chile. Seventeen years of experience working extensively in regulated markets both with governmental agencies and private companies. Has given legal testimony and acted as arbitrator in conflicts among private companies and between government agencies and private companies. Has been in charge of numerous national and international processes of sale, purchase and valuation of large companies. Has been involved in the search for investors and strategic partners for utilities, negotiation and purchase of controlling packages and shareholders agreements. Mr. Bitrán is Member of the Board of different companies and Managing and Founding Partner of Bitrán & Asociados.

Gabriel A. Bitrán
Managing Partner



PhD Economics Boston University, Founding Partner and President of Bitrán & Asociados. Consulting economist with twenty years of experience in Chile, the US, and over 30 developing countries. Areas of expertise include industrial analysis in regulated markets, economic evaluation of health investment and reform projects, the study of health care markets, including econometric studies of demand and provider costs and production. Fifteen years of academic experience, with teaching posts or assignments in Chile, the US, France, Lebanon, China, Zaire, and other countries. Academic Director of World Bank Institute's Flagship Program in Health Sector Reform and Sustainable Financing in Latin American and the Caribbean Region. Author of academic articles, book chapters, and research papers.
Ricardo A. Bitrán
President


Electric Civil Engineer from University of Chile and Graduate Degree in Business Administration from University of Chile. Twenty seven years of experience in the Chilean electricity sector performing different management positions in Generation, Transmission and Distribution companies. Has been in charge of commercial, regulation, tariffs, business development and IT areas. Participating in privatization processes in Chile as well as other countries in Latin America oriented to the acquisition of electricity and water & sanitation companies. Has been Executive Director and Member of the Board in electricity companies and universities.

Eduardo P. Valenzuela

M.A. in Economics, Catholic University of Chile, MBA University of Chicago. Has been in charge of the fund raising, assessment, negotiation, investment, control and selling stages of infrastructure projects in Chile and Latin America for a Chilean infrastructure investment fund. He also has a extensive experience as a consultant in the infrastructure and transportation sectors, acting over the last year as senior advisor to the Concessions Department at the Chilean Ministry of Public Works. Additionally, he has been member of the board of different companies and is the Director of the MBA program at Universidad del Desarrollo.

He also had been Industrial Organization professor in Universidad de Chile and Universidad del Desarrollo He is the author of several cases in strategy of company going to new deregulated areas. Today, Mr Cortes is advisor of international companies in the area of regulation and strategy

Eleven years of experience working mainly in financial modeling, in design and promotion of public works concessions, tariff-setting and negotiation for regulated services such as water supply and sewerage treatment, financial projections, project evaluation and market and contractual risk analysis for utilities.
